ABOUT

This piece was inspired by a visit to London and, emerging from Waterloo, counting the various cranes over the city. Being of a delightful, cantilevered structure, they would point towards or away from various landmarks.

I was in town to visit a client and it transpired they were looking for me to design “a welcoming introductory piece for the hallway”; one that would beckon them inside the house. My mind slipped back to the cranes and their pointing the way.

The surface is decorated with diagonal grooves, adding textural detail that catches the light in different ways at different times of the day.

Our furniture is made especially for you following your order. From sketchbook to timber stack to workshop bench, every piece from our studio and workshop has the hand of the designer-maker upon it. From its design inception to the skill of the craftsman in the making, every stage is considered and relished. It takes time to create these beautiful objects, and to ensure we fulfil our own brief to give of our best.
