ABOUT
We are enormously proud that a pair of these chairs was commissioned by Sir Nicholas and Lady Goodison and donated by them through the Art Fund to the permanent collection of 20th-21st British crafts at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
All the joints are hidden within the wood. We use a stainless steel threaded bar, secured by boat builders’ resin, to ensure a lasting and robust construction. This technique allows us to dispense with the traditional cacophony of rails and under-frame, relying instead on the intrinsic strengths of timber. It also allows us to give full throttle to the sculpting skills of the maker.
