This Bureau is quite special.

Concealed behind the tambour front is a pull-out writing surface and interior with fourteen drawers, four doors and two ‘secret’ drawers.

The colour variation found in some bog oak ranges from pitch black at its exterior, moving incrementally towards an olive green at its centre. The inevitable checks, splits and cracks that occur in this timber’s seasoning mean that cutting into small band widths is very practical and allows graduation of colour.

The effects are pretty breathtaking.
