Our Canti II console was inspired by a visit by Matthew to London. Upon emerging from Waterloo, he counted the various cranes over the city. Being of a delightful, cantilevered structure, they would point towards or away from various landmarks.

Matthew was in town to visit a client and it transpired they were looking for him to design “a welcoming introductory piece for the hallway”; one that would beckon them inside the house. His mind slipped back to the cranes and their pointing the way.

The surface of the console is decorated with diagonal grooves, adding textural detail that catches the light in different ways at different times of the day.

This piece was awarded a Bespoke Guild Mark by the Furniture Makers’ Company.

Our bespoke furniture is made especially for you, following your order. From sketchbook to timber stack to workshop bench, every piece from our studio and workshop has the hand of the designer-maker upon it. From its design inception to the skill of the craftsman in the making, every stage is considered and relished. It takes time to create these beautiful, handmade objects and to ensure we fulfil our own brief to give of our best.
