FORGE ON THE GREEN: A COMMUNITY CAFÉ
FORGE ON THE GREEN: A COMMUNITY CAFÉ
ABOUT
We are now in the fortunate position of designing & making, not only for the children, but also the grandchildren, of some of those we have served in the past. This project was a case in point.
The son of long-standing and exceptionally supportive clients, together with his wife, decided upon a community project. An old forge in the verdant Surrey village of Shamley Green was to be converted into a non-profit making, social enterprise café and we were fortunate to be chosen to supply furniture, shelving and a ‘meet and greet counter’ for the space. Oak from both Surrey & Hampshire and ash from Wiltshire were chosen.
These clients had generously sponsored an apprentice of ours a few years back. He has subsequently grown into being one of our treasured senior makers and had the privilege of leading our making & installation of the work.
It was great to be part of the bigger team, including interior designer Anna Wilson, delivering this wonderful commission.

It is a delightful space that serves its community and customers very well indeed. We wish the venture every success.
