Today's delivery. An oval table, originally designed for my own kitchen & now part of our Collection together with six 'Tricorn Cafe' chairs, delivered to the home of cherished clients who've been buying from us for decades. These are made in tiger oak. That's an oak whose roots have been colonised by the beef steak fungus (Fistulina hepatica). This reacts with the oak's tannin. Tannin is a natural preservative extracted from oak and used to tan leather. The fungi and its interaction with the tannin create a most wonderful colour change in the timber, altering it from a normal honey colour to the rich browns seem here. #commissionfurniture #supportpeopleinsheds #interiors #studiofurniture #handmade #handmadefurniture #englishfurniture #desingandmake #bespoke #bespokefurniture #supportloacaleconomy #local #localeconomy #lovenpeace
