These chairs all share a technique we gleaned from barrel-makers known as coopering. The backs are made from identical curved and tapered staves whose sides are subtly angled. When fitted together they provide the compound curve so important to their comfort.
This chair was awarded a Bespoke Guild Mark by the Furniture Makers’ Company.
The Coopered Carver is our classic carver chair – everyone who sits in it delights in its comfort. It is a result of much anatomical study.
